About the Writer
During the day I work as a therapist and Yoga teacher in a community mental health office on the West Coast of British Columbia (Canada). I love my work. It offers me the opportunity to be with people struggling to overcome personal challenges that may be in the way of their living more fulfilling lives. I’ve been specializing in psychological issues related to alcohol and drug addiction, compulsive overeating and psychological trauma for over 15 years, and look forward with affection to many more years of service in this field, as well as to my own growth and development as a result. In my spare time, I enjoy blogging and developing this site, psychologicalhealingandyoga.com. It began as a way of quietly sharing knowledge and insight about what I believe to be a very important, and oftentimes neglected aspect of the human experience, and that is psychological healing. My hope is this site will develop into a community of like minded souls travelling together down the road of life, finding comfort and inspiration in each other’s stories and companionship.
In healing,
Gloria

Dear Gloria,
January 14th, 2011 at 3:05 pmI am a like minded soul which just got guided to your blog and I have certainly enjoyed your posts and the comfort it is bringing me in seeing that yoga is gradually being integrated and recognised as essential to healing which is still a far cry of where I find myself here in Jamaica. My hope and my prayers are that things will change and my intention is to be instrumental in that journey to healing our beautiful sunny island. It’s always nice to feel there is resonance out there.
I was wondering if you could recommend another like minded soul offering psychological healing and yoga for childhood trauma and addictions in the Winnipig area.
Blessings,
Mangaljot Kaur.
Dear Mangaljot,
Thank you so much for your recent note. It warms my heart to hear you’ve enjoyed some of the posts on the blog and that it’s brought you comfort, in seeing that Yoga is increasingly being acknowledged as an important modality in the healing process. I applaud you your intention to being instrumental in facilitating transformative process in Jamaica. Wow! How wonderful! Indeed it is always nice to feel resonance with other like minded souls.
As for someone to recommend around psychological healing and Yoga for childhood trauma and addictions in the Winnipeg area, yes, there is someone I could recommend. I will pass along her contact information through your noted e-mail address. As she does not have a website, I am reluctant to share her contact information with you through this venue.
Thank-you again for getting in touch.
Kindly,
